Real Madrid Midfielder Luka Modric Hails La Liga As The Best League In The World

Luka Modric, who is currently an integral part of the Real Madrid midfield, spent quite some time in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Spain, but that didn’t stop him dismissing the League and claiming that La Liga is the best football league in the world.

The Ballon d’Pr Award Show wasn’t really a memorable evening for the Premier League. Not only were the 3 candidates for the prestigious award all from La Liga, not a single Premier League player made it into the FifPro World XI, which featured an astonishing 8 La Liga players, as well as one apiece from the Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue One.

It looks like 30-year-old Croatian Midfielder Luka Modric, who spent 4 seasons at Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Real Madrid in 2012, took note of the fact and heaped praise on the La Liga.

"When you look at the world XI, it seems there has been a shift in power," said the midfielder.

"The best players are now playing in Spain. England has so many great players but La Liga is now number one."
