Real Madrid midfielder confirms he will return to training tomorrow ahead of Villarreal clash

In a massive boost, Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has confirmed that he will rejoin group training tomorrow, ahead of the team’s La Liga clash against Villarreal.

Tchouameni has been out injured for over a month now after he suffered a foot fracture during the Merengues’ clash against arch-rivals Barcelona.

It was expected that the 23-year-old would be sidelined for at least two months, and as such was tipped to not play again in 2023.

But Tchouameni’s recovery has gone at a much greater pace than anticipated, with the Frenchman having done individual work in training in recent days.

And amid reports that he could be ready in time to face Villarreal on Sunday, the midfielder has confirmed he will return to training with the group tomorrow.

"Tomorrow I’ll be back with the group," Tchouameni told El Chiringuito TV.

This comes as a big boost for Real Madrid, who have also lost other important players like Eduardo Camavinga and Vinicius Jr. to injuries in recent weeks.

Tchouameni had been in fine form prior to his injury and had excelled at the base of the diamond midfield formation this season.

With him and Camavinga both unavailable, manager Carlo Ancelotti has had to tweak things a bit and utilise Toni Kroos and Federico Valverde almost as a double pivot at times.

But the Frenchman’s return to group training and possible availability to face Villarreal will again provide the manager with a proper defensive midfielder at his disposal.
