Real Madrid midfield maestro will renew his contract for one more season

Toni Kroos has been all over the news over the past 24 hours. The Real Madrid maestro announced on his social media that he would be coming out of international retirement to represent Germany in the upcoming Euros, generating much excitement in the football world.

There was, however, a doubt if his decision to return to the international stage would affect his commitment to the club or his future with Real Madrid.

After all, he is out of contract this summer and talks of a renewal have not yet begun.

As has been stated for a long time, Kroos’ renewal completely hinges on the player’s feelings.

From Real Madrid’s side, the player is indispensable, not just for this season but also for the one to come.

It was said that the midfielder would decide his renewal at the end of the season based on his playing time, quality and importance in the team. That, however, no longer appears to be the case as El Chiringuito reveals the player’s decision.

According to the Spanish outlet, Kroos’ idea is to continue at Real Madrid for one more season. After all, he has been playing at an imperious level this season and sees no reason to call it quits.

Moreover, the player is firm that Real Madrid will be his last club. The only road after leads to retirement.

While Kroos may have reached a decision over his club future, the same cannot be said about the maestro’s future with the German National Team.

Having just come out of retirement, the midfielder will be critical in his nation’s chances at the Euros. As hosts, they will have extra pressure to succeed and perform well.

His decision over whether to continue with the National Team, however, may well hinge on the performance at the event. A second retirement would also not come as a surprise.
