Real Madrid medical chief met with Metzelder

Borussia Dortmund defender Christophe Metzelder has undergone a medical at Real Madrid.

Marca says Real medical chief Alfonso del Corral was in charge for the German's visit to Madrid. Real chiefs wanted to check on Metzelder's long-standing Achilles injury, which has twice forced him to go under the knife.

Metzelder is off contract from Dortmund in June and is expected to join Real on a Bosman, though reports last week suggested a big Premiership club had also made contact in recent days.
