Real Madrid make official approach for Arsenal's Reyes

Real Madrid vice-president Emilio Butragueno has held talks with Arsenal chief David Dein over striker Jose Reyes.
 
Butragueno made the official approach over the weekend and asked Dein to name Arsenal's price for the Spanish international. Dein refused to offer a figure, insisting Reyes was not for sale.

However, AS says Butragueno is convinced Arsenal will make Reyes available in the summer and the first phone call was just set to out some ground-work.

Indeed, Reyes' agent, Jesus Rodriguez de Moya, was in London last month to inform Dein that the youngster wanted to leave Arsenal. Dein has already consulted with manager Arsene Wenger about Reyes and they're agreed that a £10 million fee would be a good price.

"Anyone would like to play for Madrid," said Reyes. "It is a great club and one that never closes their doors to anything."
