Real Madrid make £20M offer for Sevilla stars Baptista, Ramos

Real Madrid are making a £20 million offer for Sevilla pair Julio Baptista and Sergio Ramos.
 
Real president Florentino Perez held talks in Tokyo this week with general manager Arrigo Sacchi and vice-president Emilio Butragueno and they agreed to go for the Sevilla duo.

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has already rejected a £10 million bid from Real for Ramos this summer and is likely to reject the Madrid giants' new offer.

Arsenal have offered £18 million for Baptista, but the Brazilian would prefer to remain in Spain and has had his head turned by Real Madrid's interest.

Perez would prefer to wait until the final week of the summer transfer window to drive down Sevilla's price for Baptista, but coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo wants his squad together as soon as possible - preferably by the time they move their preseason tour to Austria next week.
