Real Madrid make £14M bid for Arsenal's Vieira

Real Madrid have made a £14 million offer for Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira.
 
The Times says Vieira, who has turned down a move to Real in each of the past two summers, is expected to discuss his future with Arsène Wenger, the Arsenal manager, over the next few days.

Roberto Bettega, the Juventus vice-president who will be in London tomorrow, is reported to be willing to increase their bid for the Arsenal and France midfield player to about £15 million, from an initial offer of about £5 million and Stephen Appiah, the Ghana midfield player.

Juventus are also willing to offer Jonathan Zebina, the France defender, and Enzo Maresca, the midfield player, as makeweights in any deal.
