Real Madrid locked in Seitaridis talks with Panathinaikos

Real Madrid made a move for Panathinaikos fullback Giorgis Seitaridis yesterday.

After his overwhelming presidential victory, Real supremo Florentino Perez returned to business yesterday morning and was immediately in contact with Panathinaikos officials over Seitaridis.

Though the Greek giants have agreed a fee with Porto for the youngster, Seitaridis did not sign any forms before Euro2004 and is still to ink a contract.

The 22 year-old has been aware of Real's interest during the Euros and resisted pressure from Porto president Jorge Nino da Costa to sign with the European champions.

Seitaridis was given a deadline by Porto through to midnight last night to sign with them. But with no contract penned, it appears the way is clear for Real to negotiate a transfer with Panathinaikos for the Greek hero.
