Real Madrid linked with Man Utd keeper Carroll

Manchester United goalkeeper Roy Carroll has been linked with Real Madrid.

Carroll has stalled on signing a new deal that will keep him at Old Trafford beyond the summer and now Real Madrid are prepared to pounce, says the People.

Real are not planning to replace the highly-rated Iker Casillas with Carroll but instead see the Northern Irishman as the perfect back-up to the Spanish 'keeper.

Madrid's current deputy Cesar is set to leave the Bernabeu in the summer when his contract expires.
