Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos makes surprise move to Anzhi Makhachkala

Anzhi Makhachkala have swooped for Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos.

The wing-back has quit Corinthians to move to Dagestan.

A contract worth a reported $9 million for his 18 month stint has been handed to Roberto Carlos.

The player’s agent, Fabiano Farah, told Sovietsky Sport that Anzhi’s was the only “worthwhile” offer on the table from a European club.

“[Roberto Carlos’] goal with Anzhi is to take this team as high as possible in the standings,” he said.
