Real Madrid 'Keeper Iker Casillas Insists Thinking About Champions League Final Is A Mistake

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has insisted that his team must focus on the present and getting results on a game by game basis, adding that thinking about the UEFA Champions League final at this stage of the season would be a mistake.

Madrid are looking to claim their tenth European champions trophy this season and have prioritised reaching the final at the Bernabeu in May as the number one target for the club this season but Casillas is concerned about taking things slowly en route to this objective.

"It would be a big mistake on our part to be thinking about the final. we set our targets in the short term and take things slowly. We knew it would take time for the team to set. There are many new faces but all good players and as we link we are gradually bearing fruit," he told AS.

"We hope to achieve the objectives we set ourselves in both the league and the Champions League."
