Real Madrid join Manchester United in Thuram race

Real Madrid have again approached Parma about the availability of French defender Lilian Thuram.

The Spanish giants enquired three weeks ago and were quoted a transfer price of £29 million by Parma - a fee considered far too risky for a player approaching 30.

But with latest reports suggesting that Manchester United have been informed it will take just £14.5 million to secure Thuram, Real have again approached Parma about the player's asking price.
