Real Madrid issue 'transfer truce' with Man Utd over Ferdinand

Real Madrid have told Manchester United they won't bid for defender Rio Ferdinand or winger Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
 
Real president Florentino Perez called a transfer truce after United boss Alex Ferguson agreed not to pursue his interest in goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Perez issued a statement that read: "We have written to Man United denying any interest in signing Rio Ferdinand or in any other player that belongs to the club."
