Real Madrid invite offers for Man Utd target Makelele

Real Madrid sports chief Jorge Valdano has confirmed that Claude Makelele will be allowed to leave in the summer if the right offer arrives.

Manchester United are chasing the French international, who is valued at around £8 million.

Valdano said, "This is very clear. He has three years of his contract left and a great offer must arrive before he leaves."

"He does not have freedom to choose his future, as Madrid would not have it to choose if his performances had not been good."
