Miralem Pjanic’s impressive early season performances for Roma have caught the eye of Real Madrid boss Rafael Benitez, who has joined other top European club’s in pursuing the 25-year-old.
The Bosnian has been one of the Giallorossi’s key performers in Serie A as they chase a fourth Scudetto, along with trying to put in an extended run in the Champions League.
Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc is among the Bosnian’s admirers and is keen for the midfielder to make a return to France, where he previously played for Lyon.
Madrid’s bitter rivals Barcelona have also been monitoring the player as they seek to make signings upon the expiration of their transfer ban at the beginning of next year.
However, the Lupi remain determined to keep hold of the playmaker who is viewed as fundamental to the club’s future success both domestically and in the Champions League.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Roma will demand a fee of at least €50 million from Los Blancos in order to let Pjanic leave the Italian capital, as coach Rudi Garcia is reluctant to sell the former Metz midfielder.
Pjanic, who has scored nine goals for Bosnia and Herzegovina in 61 caps, was signed by the Giallorossi for a fee of around €11m and still has over two years remaining on his contract with the Italian side.
