Real Madrid – Inter Milan for the XXIII Santiago Bernabeu Trophy
Real Madrid will be playing Inter Milan, a historic team in European football, in the 23rd Santiago Bernabeu Trophy taking place on August 14th at Bernabeu Stadium as presentation of Real Madrid to their supporters.
Real Madrid will be playing Inter Milan in the presentation of Vicente del Bosque's team for season 2001-02. It's a high level opponent for the so-called most prestigious summer trophies, Santiago Bernabeu Trophy, which was created to honour the former president of Real Madrid, this year being its twenty-third season.

Inter was founded on March 9th, 1908 so it's part of the history of Italian football. Their track record deserves all respects: 13 Leagues, 2 European Cups, 2 Intercontinental Cups, 3 UEFA Cups and 3 Italy Cups.
Massimo Moratti is the Manager and some of the players are top football stars so they don't have to wait until next season to sign the best players. Frey between the posts and his height is remarkable, Laurent Blanc and Cordoba perform very well as central defenders and so do Dalmat and Zanetti as midfielders. The list goes on, Seedorf, former Real Madrid player, Farinos, from Valencia and former Atletico Madrid players, Serena, Jugovic and Vieri who is wanted back by Juventus. Besides, they already hired Emre, the new star from Turkish football and Okan, both from Galatasaray. Their top star, Ronaldo is still recovering from his serious injury and won't be able to play at Bernabeu. Alvaro Recoba, the Uruguayan player won't be able to play either because he's been suspended for a year due to falsified passports.
There's also a centre of attention on the Inter's bench. Moratti has hired Hector Cuper, former Valencia coach. The Manager relies on the Argentinean coach to bring the good times back for his team since the last time Inter won the League was in season 88-89. Cuper, who managed to lead Valencia to the European Cup final, is the basis for the plans during season 2001-02.
