Real Madrid in shock move for Barcelona's Puyol

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is considering a sensational move for Barcelona defender Carles Puyol.

AS says Perez is ready to bid for Puyol as he feels he has been freed up from the 'non-aggression' pact Real had with Barca after their attempts to sign striker Samuel Eto'o.

Real coach Jose Antonio Camacho is keen to have Puyol at the Bernabeu this season and the Catalan also counts on Iker Casillas, Jose Maria Guti and Raul as close friends.

Puyol is unsettled at Barca, where he believes he hasn't been treated well by president Joan Laporta, who is demanding he take a cut in his present £3.5 million salary.
