Real Madrid in Inter Milan talks over Cannavaro

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has opened talks with Inter Milan for defender Fabio Cannavaro.

Diariosport says Perez has attempted to keep the negotiations quiet as he seeks to meet coach Jose Antonio Camacho's request for a new central defender to play alongside Walter Samuel this season.

Argie midfielder Santiago Solari is being offered in the package, who is a favourite of new Inter coach Roberto Mancini's.

Perez is under pressure to produce a new big-name signing after rivals Barcelona completed yet another high-profile deal last week in Edmilson from Lyon.
