Real Madrid in for Depor's Sergio

Real Madrid trainer Vicente del Bosque is targeting Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Sergio.

Del Bosque has recommended the former Espanyol player to the Real board and wants sports chief Jorge Valdano to begin negotiations about a possible summer deal.

Sergio is seen as a readymade replacement for Claude Makelele and though he has six years left on his Depor deal, Real will seek to prise him away over the close-season.
