Real Madrid In Contact With Roma Over Transfer Of Daniele De Rossi

Real Madrid are looking to strengthen their midfield for next season by securing the acquisition of Roma’s Daniele De Rossi, reports from Spain suggest.

Cadena SER comments that Los Blancos have contacted the Serie A giants over the possibility of concluding a summer transfer, and want to pair De Rossi with Xabi Alonso in the centre of the pitch for the beginning of the 2011-12 season.

The 27-year-old's valuation is in the region of €35 million, but his current contract expires in 2012, and given the Giallorossi’s uncertain financial footing, they may be tempted by a substantial offer from the Primera Division giants.

Madrid have been consistently linked with a move for the Italian international, although no firm offer has ever been tabled to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

It is also thought however that De Rossi’s desire is to remain in Rome until the end of his career, and that he may well reject any advances that would arrive in any case.
