Real Madrid hope Zidane can lure French stars

Zinedine Zidane could be key in rebuilding Real Madrid at the end of this season.

L'Equipe says Florentino Perez plans to hand Zidane a high-level role in his new Real Madrid team - which will include having a say on transfers.

Perez is banking on Zidane to convince Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery and Lyon star Karim Benzema to join him in Madrid in the summer.

A move for AC Milan midfielder Yoann Gourcuff, currently starring on-loan with Bordeaux, has also been mooted.
