Real Madrid hero Stielike backs push for Ballack, Podolski

Former Real Madrid star Uli Stielike says Cologne striker Lukas Podolski would be a great signing for the Spanish giants.
 
It's reported Real have struck a £10 million agreement with Cologne for the 20 year-old Germany international and Stielike told AS: "He is a player with a future. I had him in the national youth team, but I do not think he's at a level now to make an impact at Real. Nowadays, Baptista, Robinho and Raul have more experience. But yes, he would be a magnificent investment for the future."

Germany U18 coach Stielike was also asked about Real's interest in Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Ballack: "Yes, he would fit in well."

"He is famous and has demonstrated that he can respond to a great responsibility that is needed for playing for a Madrid, a Juve or an Arsenal. He has the quality to succeed."
