Real Madrid hero Roberto Carlos: Most important of my life

Roberto Carlos described last night's winner for Real Madrid as "one of the most important goals of my life".

With scores locked at 2-2 against Recreativo Huelva, the Brazilian wing-back charged down the field in the final minute and eventually thrashed home the winner.

"I was desperate to score a goal like that. It is one of the most important goals of my life. We deserved it, because we were playing well and we had the score at 0-2. We did not deserve to lose," said Roberto Carlos.

The Real favourite will be with the club for eleven seasons next month and added: "The first person I phoned was my Dad. I dedicate the goal to everyone in the team, for all the work they put in today."

"This triumph is going to give much confidence to us, because we continued demonstrating that we know how to win when we're suffering."
