Real Madrid hero Adebayor: Last week I was rubbish now I am a god

Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor isn't bothered about criticism from the media.

Adebayor struck twice in their Champions League victory over Tottenham, but days earlier was slammed for his performance in defeat to Sporting Gijon.

"I do not read the Spanish press because I am not yet able to understand Spanish, it does not really interest me too much what is said about me because football is made of ups and downs," said Adebayor.

"According to the Press last weekend I was probably the worst player on the team and now they say I'm almost like a god."

"The only thing that matters is the hard work every day in practice and during games."
