Real Madrid have offer waiting for England boss Eriksson

Real Madrid are being linked with unsettled England manager Sven Goran Eriksson.

The dramatic resignation of English FA chief Adam Crozier during the week cast the first piece of doubt over Eriksson's future. Crozier, who chased hard for the Swede while he was with Lazio, was the England manager's closest ally.

However, Friday's sudden resignation of assistant coach Steve McClaren has sparked speculation that Eriksson's support is crumbling.

Real trainer Vicente del Bosque's own position is shaky after a poor start to the season. President Florentino Perez is ready to bring Eriksson to Spain and will be first in line with a huge offer if the Swede does decide to quit his post.

Another Perez target, AS Roma's Fabio Capello, has dropped down his wanted list with the Italian's style of game regularly criticised in Spain - despite his previous success with the club.

Inter Milan's Massimo Moratti also would love the Swede as manager, but Hector Cuper's current success would prove difficult to justify a change in trainer.
