Real Madrid have a striker lined up for the January market.
 
Real chiefs have been working furiously in recent weeks trying to uncover a new No9 to act as cover for injury-prone Ronaldo.

Fiorentina star Luca Toni is regarded as favourite to attract a bid from Real Madrid, while AS Roma's Antonio Cassano is also being linked with the Spanish giants.

A Real insider told AS: "We have identified a No9 and he is waiting to come. But nothing will be announced too soon."

The source also confirmed Real had plans for signing a replacement in the event Raul fails to recover from a knee injury next month.
