Real Madrid happy with Drenthe fee

Real Madrid hope to complete the signing of Feyenoord wing-back Royston Drenthe by Thursday evening.

AS says the two clubs are close to agreeing terms over a fee for the Holland U21 international with around £350,000 separating the two clubs. Real's last offer yesterday was for £8.15 million, while Feyenoord sports chief Peter Bosz is holding out for &pouind;8.5 million.

Real are expected to meet Bosz's demands today, having feared earlier in negotiations that it would take a clear £10 million to land Drenthe.

The youngster has always wanted a move to Real and actually dismissed his former agent Andre Waisman as he negotiated a move with European rivals Chelsea.
