Real Madrid Goalkeeper Iker Casillas Hopes To Make It Third Time Lucky In Copa Del Rey Final

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas is hoping to win the Copa del Rey this year by defeating arch-rivals Barcelona in the final on April 20.

Casillas will play in his third Copa final and having lost the first two, the Spain international custodian wants to make it third time lucky.

"We are very happy because we will be playing in one of the most attractive matches of the year," enthused Casillas, according to Madrid's official website. "This was one of our goals when the season began and we have made it."

"Now we must see if we are lucky enough to win it. At least we will be there. I have lost two Copa finals and hope the third time is a charm."

The 29-year-old went on to speak about the Blancos' 2-0 victory over Sevilla in the second-leg of their semi-final tie at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

"It wasn't an easy match. We have played a lot of games in the last month and all have been difficult."

"With all that to deal with, we managed to make the final. We had trouble in the first half, but Sevilla spread out in the second and that is when the chances became bountiful."

"We now have three league matches before the Champions League returns, so we have some time to recharge," Casillas continued.

"We are not going to think about anything other than our next match. We aren't in an easy situation in La Liga, but this win is a breath of fresh air ahead of our upcoming games."
