Real Madrid go for Liverpool target Calatayud

Real Madrid are ready to sign Malaga goalkeeper Juan Calatayud for next season.

Despite Calatayud being on the verge of signing a new contract extension at Malaga, Real will push for a deal at the end of this season.

AS says Real president Florentino Perez has settled on Calatayud to replace Caesar, who is leaving the Santiago Bernabeu next summer when his current contract expires.

Liverpool are also scouting Calatayud, but Real remain favourites for the shot-stopper. Madrid had an offer of £650,000, plus two young players, for Calatayud rejected by Malaga last season.
