Real Madrid have gone cold on Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Wenger reportedly held talks with Real officials over the summer before the then Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz was appointed trainer.

Real have kept tabs on Wenger's contract situation at Highbury this season, but his team's latest struggles in the Champions League have forced president Florentino Perez into a rethink.

Other potential European suitors, such as Inter Milan and Barcelona, are also concerned with Wenger's inability to manage teams in European competition.
