Real Madrid GM wants Man Utd target Casillas to stay

Real Madrid GM Arrigo Sacchi has hinted he will press president Florentino Perez to secure goalkeeper Iker Casillas to a new contract.
 
Sacchi regards Casillas one of the best goalkeepers he's worked with for his age and told AS: "People must be calm with Casillas because he will continue safely with us. I have never seen a keeper make so many wonderful saves."

"On Saturday he did not have much of a chance in the plays of Riquelme and Forlán, but his positioning was so correct that he forced Riquelme into a mistake."

"Casillas is excellent and has enormous potential."

"He still is only 23 years old and has a lot more improvement left."

Casillas has been linked with Manchester United next season as Real continue to stall on offering him a new contract. His current deal has just over 12 months to run.

Real, for their part, have asked Juventus about Gigi Buffon, but Sacchi insists: "No please ... both are great goalkeepers.

"They are two extraordinary, but different keepers."
