Real Madrid GM Valdano in Santander for Canales meeting

Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano had lunch with Sergio Canales and his father yesterday.

The Racing Santander youngster is joining Real next season and Valdano was keen to touch base with the midfielder and tell him what was expected as a Madrid player.

Canales has signed a deal to 2016 and will do preseason with the club before it is decided whether he stays or returns on-loan to Racing for next season.

Valdano spent almost three hours with the Canales' and was snapped outside the restaurant with his arm around the 18 year-old.
