Real Madrid GM Sacchi backs Remon, warns players

Real Madrid GM Arrigo Sacchi has handed coach Mariano Garcia Remon his endorsement, but fired a warning to the club's underperforming stars.

Sacchi said on Christmas Eve: "Mariano Garcia Remón has the confidence of all the club and mine also."

"The trainer has the endorsement of the club and therefore mine. It is he who makes the selections. I will be his reference. The line-up, for example, are problems for the trainer."

"I see in him an honest person. But yes, we demand that the players give their maximum. Here we are at the most famous club in the world, you also have advantages, but there is a responsibility that goes with it."
