Real Madrid fullback Palencia pleads case to replace Cicinho

Real Madrid B fullback Miguel Palencia has pleaded with coach Fabio Capello to give him a chance to replace Cicinho.
 
Capello has declared they're studying the transfer market to find a replacement for the Brazilian, who is out for the season with a knee injury.

But Palencia says: "That a player injures himself is never pleasing, but I think that Cicinho plays in my position and that they can call on me.

"If Capello gives me an opportunity, I'd be delighted."

"If I am not ready now after 13 years here, then I will never be. The local players only need opportunities. I made my debut with Del Bosque at 18 years of age and later I played with Luxemburgo at La Corunna. I have matured a lot."

"I think that the solution to the loss of Cicinho is at home. In the first team there are not many pure right-backs and I am doing very well with the B team."
