The publication confirms that the agreement between Real Madrid and the Brazilian was sealed and signed in the summer itself. In fact, this season the Brazilian has been paid according to the new deal that he signed in July.
The only thing that remains for everyone involved is to set a date for the official announcement. For that, Real Madrid have two approaches at hand.
First, they can either make it official as a single act, or second, they can do it with the other Brazilians they have in their roster; Rodrygo and Eder Militao, who are also set to pen new long-term contracts.
The news does not come as a major surprise, considering that Vinicius recently commented that he does not see himself leaving Real Madrid for a different club any time soon.
In an interview, the 22-year-old admitted that he is happy at Real Madrid, although he passed on a cheeky comment saying the English Premier League is a competition that every player wants to play.
"It is true that I’m very happy here at Real Madrid and I think I will play here until the end of my career."
"Of course, experiencing another league is important and I think the Premier League is a league that every player wants to play in. But my dream is and always was to play for Real Madrid," he added.
Vinicius signed for Real Madrid in 2018 for a fee reported to be around €46 million. As part of his initial deal, the young Brazilian was paid €3 million per season and he never really complained about being one of the low earners.
However, after a sensational 2021/22 season, his stock has skyrocketed and Real Madrid are aware of the vultures waiting to pry on the given opportunity. So in order to avoid that, AS claims the team has offered him a new deal which now allows him to earn €8 million per year.
As far as the player is concerned, he is fully committed to the project at hand. And so, signing a deal until 2027 means he will be at the club until 27 years of age and there is a possibility that he might have at least one Ballon d’Or to his name by then.
