Real Madrid fans slam Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in online poll

The club's support are frustrated with another poor season and took it out on the two superstars.

Real Madrid fans have revealed their frustration with the club's megastars in an online poll where only one eighth of supporters chose to "save" Cristiano Ronaldo .

The poll, by Madrid-based sports daily AS , was based on the simple question "which players would you save from the Las Palmas game?"

On Sunday, Madrid  edged past the islanders 2-1 thanks to a late Casemiro winner . But it was far from a convincing performance, and the club's support are getting increasingly frustrated with poor performances when they are already 12 points behind archrivals Barcelona and four off cross-town rivals Atletico - a frustration that came across in the numbers from the poll.

Despite being the club's top scorer this season, only 12.6% of over 11,500 voters had any sympathy for Cristiano Ronaldo , who was anonymous against Las Palmas.

Gareth Bale didn't fare much better (18.5%) but both he and Ronaldo outperformed Mateo Kovacic (10.5%) and Isco (9.4%) with the latter's status as a fan favourite under real threat.

Only five players managed an approval rating of over 50%, and even then Luka Modric (50.1%) and Dani Carvajal (50.8%) were narrowly above the line.

In-form winger Lucas Vazquez (63.7%) has pleased the Madrid support but it was unfashionable midfielder Casemiro (81.1%) and goalkeeper Keylor Navas (96.8%) who topped the poll.

Zinedine Zidane revealed after Sunday's game that he was "a little worried" with his side's form.
