Barcelona hero Ronaldinho thanked the Santiago Bernabeu for their applause after last night's 3-0 thrashing of Real Madrid.

"It seems to me perfect to receive this affection from the fans of our greatest rival," said the Brazilian wonder. "Few moments in a career happen to you like this."

"I believe that with Barcelona, only Maradona has received their applause and it is humbling to receive their acknowledgement."

"But what I want most is to give satisfaction to the fans of Barcelona."

He added: "We have won three important points, but there's still a long way to go in this Liga."
