Real Madrid eyeing Borussia Dortmund's Kehl

Real Madrid chiefs are considering a concrete bid for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sebastien Kehl.

The German international has quickly moved to top of Real's shopping list this month as GM Arrigo Sacchi searches for a new, defensive midfielder.

After disagreements over Javier Mascherano (River Plate) and Rio Mavuba (Bordeaux), both Sacchi and Real vice-president Emilio Butragueno are agreed on Kehl's qualities.

The 24 year-old is not Cup-tied to the Champions League and Dortmund's financial problems means they cannot afford to turn down any significant offer for their best players.
