Real Madrid eye Liverpool, Everton target Essien

Real Madrid are the latest club to be linked with Bastia midfielder Mickael Essien.

The 20 year-old is attracting interest from a host of clubs, including Everton, Liverpool and Lyon.

Despite Real having one of the best midfields in the world, boss Vicente del Bosque is looking to strengthen his squad in the summer after his team's Champions League failure.

Essien's agent, Fabien Piveteau told French press, that Everton are the only club to have tabled a genuine offer and also believes Lyon will place a bid for the exciting midfielder in the near future.
