Real Madrid expect Van Nistelrooy in Spain tonight

Real Madrid are confident Ruud van Nistelrooy will be in Spain tonight to complete his move from Manchester United.
 
AS says Real sports chief Predrag Mijatovic had a £10 million offer accepted by United at midnight last night and Van Nistelrooy is expected to arrive in Madrid via private jet.

The Dutchman will have an intensive medical tomorrow morning, while honorary president Alfredo Di Stefano is scheduled to present him with his Real Madrid shirt. Van Nistelrooy has agreed a three-year deal worth £3.5 million-a-season.

Van Nistelrooy will join his new Real teammates on Friday evening as coach Fabio Capello is keen not to have any delays in his preseason preparation.

Earlier today, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson cast doubt on the deal by insisting Real's improved offer was not enough.
