Real Madrid draw up shopping list to replace crock Pepe

Real Madrid have declared they will go shopping in January for a new centre-half after losing Pepe for the season to a knee injury.

Real are expected to go outside of Spain for their next defensive signing, who is likely to be a young prospect.

AS says the top contenders are Velez Sarsfield defender Nicolas Otamendi, Borussia Dortmund's Neven Subotic, Fenerbahce veteran Diego Lugano and Udinese's Colombia international Cristian Zapata.
