Real Madrid docs give Woodgate all-clear

Real Madrid signing Jonathan Woodgate has begun training on his own after being given the all-clear from the club's medicos.

Real Madrid signing Jonathan Woodgate has begun training on his own after being given the all-clear from the club's medicos.

Woodgate has recovered from a thigh injury, which he was carrying when he signed for Real last week from Newcastle United in a £13 million deal.

The England international will first begin running on his own, ahead of joining the rest of the squad for full-scale training.

Real coach Jose Antonio Camacho expects to call on a 100 per cent fit Woodgate for next week's Liga clash with Numancia on September 11.

Fitness coach Jose Luis Sanmartan is working closely with the defender to be sure he is in the right shape to play against Numancia.
