Real Madrid discuss bid for Arsenal's Henry

Real Madrid are already discussing a bid for Arsenal captain Thierry Henry after his five-star performance on Tuesday night.
 
A source close to a Real director told AS: "There isn't a single Real Madrid fan who wouldn't be behind a push for Henry."

The Times says Real president Florentino Pérez has long been an admirer of Henry without ever making a formal bid, but Tuesday's heroics may have forced his hand.

The all-powerful president is nothing if not a populist, seizing control of the club on the back of his policy of signing superstars and, with his original batch appearing to have lost their sheen, the Arsenal striker is being discussed as a possible replacement.
