Real Madrid determined to win Benzema battle

Real Madrid are determined to beat all-comers for Olympique Lyon strike-ace Karim Benzema.

Real chiefs Pedja Mijatovic and Miguel Angel Portugal are working on gaining first option on the France international, says Marca.

Intermediaries have already sounded out Benzema about his plans and Real know that the striker would jump at the chance of moving to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mijatovic and Portugal want to find an agreement with Lyon, either a first option or a fee for his transfer, with the intention of allowing Benzema remaining in France for another two seasons before bringing the 19 year-old to Madrid.
