Real Madrid Defender Christoph Metzelder Plays Down Real Zaragoza Link

Real Madrid defender Christoph Metzelder has revealed that there have been no offers for his services so far in the winter transfer window, despite links with a possible switch to Real Zaragoza.

Metzelder has rarely featured for Los Merengues so far this season and it seemed that he would have to leave the Bernabeu to play regular first team football. However with the season long injury to Pepe, it is unlikely that Madrid will be willing to lose the services of another central defender at this stage of the season.

There is talk of a possible move away from Madrid with Real Zaragoza reportedly keen to sign the 28-year-old centre half but Metzelder is remaining coy on the issue.

"I heard something, but have not received any offers from anyone. We [Real Madrid] have great quality in the squad and the coach's decisions are what they are. I know that the Spanish newspapers are very attentive to what I say in Germany so I prefer to avoid being in the front pages," he noted, according to AS.
