Real Madrid defender Cannavaro: Juventus agreement now close

Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro admits a deal is close to being struck with Juventus.

"I know that the agreement with Juve is near, but not yet done," said Cannavaro before last night's thrashing by Barcelona.

Cannavaro decided to enter Bosman talks with Juve after Real president Vicente Boluda admitted nothing could be offered to him until the club's elections are held in June.
