Real Madrid defender Bravo joins Leeds on loan

Real Madrid defender Raul Bravo has been loaned out to Leeds United until the end of the season, the Spanish club said on Friday.

"The deal does not include an option to buy the player," Real said on their website. "Raul Bravo will rejoin Real Madrid on June 30, 2003."

The 21-year-old left back has won five caps for Spain, but his appearances for Real have been scarce as he plays in the same position as Brazilian international Roberto Carlos.

Bravo's arrival at Leeds will help cover the gap left by Jonathan Woodgate, who sealed a nine million pound move to Newcastle United on Friday.
