Real Madrid convinced they have Keane

Real Madrid are set to unveil Roy Keane as their latest big signing this week.

The Spanish giants are convinced they have won the battle to land Keane, 34, on a free transfer after he was shunted out by Manchester United.
 
David Beckham's club have blown away Everton, West Brom and Celtic by offering Keane £70,000 a week to sign until the end of the season.

Celtic offered Keane only £15,000 while the highest offers from Premiership clubs - including Everton's £35,000 - have not come close.

Republic of Ireland star Keane could even sign with the option of another season playing alongside England skipper Becks.

Bernabeu sources have told The Sun that talks between Real chiefs and Keane's lawyer Michael Kennedy have reached 'closing' stage.

The Keane camp also presented a medical report to show he has recovered from a broken foot.

Real doctors are on standby to fly over in the next 48 hours to carry out a provisional medical.

Keane will travel to Spain this week for a second medical, shown on TV.

Then he will be presented by Real president Florentino Perez at the Bernabeu.
