Real Madrid contact Inter about Vieri

Real Madrid have approached Inter Milan about the availability of centre-forward, Christian Vieri.

Real sports director Jorge Valdano met with Inter officials recently to enquire about the Italian international and was told that it would cost Real £16 million plus Guti and Fernando Morientes to land Vieri.

Real have received glowing reports on Vieri this season with the Italian's personality no longer a concern for Spanish buyers.

Vieri spent a season in the Primera Liga with Atletico Madrid and although successful, he became better known for his restlessness at Atletico than his prolific goalscoring.
