Real Madrid confirm Osasuna will have to pay if Valdo plays

Real Madrid sports chief Jorge Valdano has confirmed Osasuna would have to cough up a fee if they play Valdo on Sunday.

The young defender is on-loan at Osasuna from Real and has a clause in his deal which states that a fee must be paid if he is selected to play against European champs.

Valdano said, "There is a clause in the loan contract with Osasuna that exists by which if he plays against us they would have to pay a fee."

"The normal thing is that he does not play."

Real's insistence that their loan players do not face them has caused controversy over the past two years.
